Weekend Inspiration – Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine

I recently saw Blue Jasmine.  Cate Blanchett is so outstanding, you forget the plot holes in the movie.

I haven’t seen all the other Best Actress nominees’ performances yet but if Cate wins the Oscar I wouldn’t be surprised.

The wardrobe was amazing as well.  I read that the costume designer, Suzy Benzinger, had a budget of only $35,000.  Most of the clothes were borrowed and every time Cate dropped the Birkin (which belonged to Benzinger and cost more than the entire budget) on the ground, people on set gasped.

Beautiful Chanel jacket.  Poor Jasmine.  She was bananas.

How stunning is this red Carolina Herrera dress?  Love, love, love, it!

I have a completely different build from Ms. Blanchett.  I’m not sure how any of these clothes would look on my short self, but I can dream about the accessories.

Buon weekend!

  1. I recently saw this movie too! Agreed on the acting: she is one of the best actresses working right now, period. Did you see her in Cèline on the cover of US Vogue this month? Unbelievably beautiful.

    • Yes, I did. I agree with you… so beautiful. I loved her Golden Globes dress as well.

There aren’t many actresses that could’ve played Jasmine. Cate knocked it out of the park.

  2. Loved the movie and loved her! Did you see what she wore at the Golden Globes? The most beautiful black lace Armani Prive – and I don’t even like lace all that much. Hope she gets the Oscar

Cate Blanchett is a MOVIE STAR. No one brings the old hollywood glamor like she does. She is flawless. And clearly, Lupita has taken some tips from her on how to be PERFECTION.

Still have to see this movie but Cate Blanchett is definitely a true star, a great actor with an amazing figure. Clothes simply look perfect on her and she wears them with such a class, an allure … gorgeous.
